Beijerinvest is acquiring Balustradedesign, which manufactures custom-made railings for patios, balconies, and indoor spaces. The products are sold directly to customers online. The product line has been successfully internationalized, and the majority of sales are exports. Together with Beijerinvest, the company is now continuing its growth journey.
Balustradedesign was founded in 2010 by cousins Andreas Wedberg and André Svensson, who together simplified the process of purchasing and efficiently manufacturing glass railings. Through the company’s online store, customers can now design and order custom-made railing products that are delivered directly to their doorstep.
“ Balustradedesign operates in a modern way. Through digital solutions, they’ve made the difficult easy—simplifying the purchasing process for customers and streamlining production and logistics. In addition, they’ve successfully expanded their business internationally,” says Anders Eller, CEO of Beijerinvest.

Founder and CEO Andreas Wedberg will remain a partner. In that role, he will take the next step together with Beijerinvest.
“I’ve now found a partner who can help us in our continued development. I was drawn to the industrial and long-term ownership philosophy, combined with the entrepreneurial culture at Beijerinvest and the Wall family, which is a perfect fit for us,” he says.
In 2019, Balustradedesign will move to larger facilities and make investments that will double its manufacturing capacity. At the same time, new products will be launched. The goal is also to grow through acquisitions, where the company’s own digitalization expertise will provide additional leverage.
Since its inception, the company has experienced strong growth, and in 2018, its revenue totaled just over 50 million kronor. Its primary market is Sweden, and its other current markets include Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Austria, and France. Balustradedesign is based in Ängelholm and has approximately 30 employees.
