Glass and clamps mounted in a wooden frame

Build Your Own Railing – With Pre-Cut Glass and Clamps

For this project, the client chose to build a custom wooden railing and complemented it with laminated safety glass and clamps from Balustrade Store. The solution provides a clear and secure boundary—without obstructing the view of the landscape and the lake.

Installing glass in wooden posts is a common choice for those who want to combine natural materials with an airy feel.

Glass railing designed for a patio or balcony

The railing's design makes it equally suitable for both patios and wooden balconies. The clear glass panels preserve the view, while the fall protection meets the safety requirements for working at heights.

Laminated glass for secure installation

The glass is laminated safety glass, which means it remains intact even if it cracks. It is particularly well-suited for situations involving changes in elevation, where extra safety is required.

Clamp fasteners for attaching to wood

The fasteners are made of stainless steel and designed for use with wood. They are screwed directly into the posts and hold the glass in place without the need to drill into the glass. A solution that offers both stability and flexibility.

Combine wood and glass in a railing

By using wood for the structure and glass as the infill, the railing creates a warm, natural feel—without feeling enclosed. The wooden top rail serves as a finishing touch and reinforces the stability of the entire structure.

This combination works particularly well in settings where you want the railing to blend into its surroundings—as here, with the forest, lake, and fields in the foreground.

A flexible solution for do-it-yourself projects

Räckesbutiken’s glass and brackets can be used with your own materials, making it easy to create custom solutions. You can customize the height, spacing, wood type, and color to match the style and needs of your home.

This type of solution is a common choice for those who already have a wooden frame or want to build a glass railing from scratch.
