Postless glass railing for a maximum view
In this project, a post-free glass railing was used to preserve the unobstructed view of the cliffs, the archipelago, and the red rooftops. The glass runs along the edge of the deck and is held in place by a low aluminum floor profile mounted on top of the decking. The result is an almost invisible fall protection system that combines safety with aesthetics.
Here, every detail has been chosen with the character of the location in mind—from the naturally weathered wood on the deck to the transparency of the glass, which reflects the light without causing glare. This is an example of how the right railing can enhance the overall impression rather than detract from it.
When is a postless railing suitable for outdoor use?
- Where there are differences in elevation that require fall protection but sight lines are important
- On balconies, terraces, or rooftops with a view
- In coastal environments where weather resistance is crucial
Glass and Safety in One
The laminated safety glass meets the requirements for railings with a fall height, even in exposed locations subject to wind and weather. The floor profile is designed to withstand point loads in accordance with current regulations. Such a system requires no maintenance and works just as well in a private garden as on a rooftop terrace in a harsh climate.
