2019 has been a fantastic year for us at Balustradedesign! Here’s a brief look back at what’s been happening in our little world:
- In February, we launched a new railing— Alu Modern. A sleek glass railing with aluminum posts for both indoor and outdoor use.
- In March, we were acquired by the family-owned investment firm Beijerinvest. This is a strong indication that we are on the right track, and we are now continuing our growth journey together!
- The #winyourrack contest kicked off in April and ends on December 31 (so there are still a few days left to submit your entry!).
- April also marked the launch of our next product! Both a wire railing and a new version of our stainless steel railing —now with horizontal bars.
- In June, we started using a new rail for our post-free glass railing, which makes it easier to install the railing and keep the glass panels straight.
- The glass windscreen was launched in July. The windscreen is ordered as an add-on to the stainless steel glass railing or the Alu Classic aluminum railing, and is available in heights of 160 cm and 180 cm.
- In August, we expanded by launching an online store for the Swiss market, which makes things much easier for our customers in Switzerland, who previously had to deal with some import hassles because Switzerland is not an EU member.
- We moved into our new offices in October. The office is new and fresh, and the production area gives our manufacturing capacity a major boost! In other words, we’re well-equipped for the future.
- In October, our post-free railing gained another installation method: floor mounts. Each glass panel is secured to two aluminum floor mounts—either on the outside of or on top of the subfloor. As before, you can choose to install the railing using fixpoints (point mounts) or an aluminum rail.
- In November, we launched yet another new product— a glass French balcony. There are two ways to attach the railing to the wall: either with fixed points or with aluminum posts.
- We updated our popular design tool in November, making it even easier to design and order railings. The mobile experience, in particular, has been greatly improved!
We're about to wrap up a wonderful year, and we're looking forward to the next one with excitement!

Our online store is, of course, open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, but if you’d like personal assistance, please contact us on December 23 and 30. Customer service will be back in full force on January 2, 2020.
